Springfield Host Lions Club

Celebrating 90 Years of Service!!  Dinner on October 8, 2011, Twin Oaks Country Cluib.

The Springfield Host Lions Club is the third oldest club in Missouri.  Chartered  September 7, 1921, as the Springfield Lions Club. At its start the club focused on helping the needy children of Springfield. Since that time it has expanded to include the Lions mission of helping the Blind Community and reaching young people.  One of the early projects of the Club was to supply paperboys with gloves for the winter.

We currently host an annual Picnic and a Christmas Party for the Blind. We purchase eyeglasses and hearing aids for qualifying individuals who meet financial guidelines. We also collect used eye classes and used hearing aids for recycling.

Since its start the Springfield Host Lions Club has sponsered nine clubs in Missouri.
